June sees the return of the annual ‘The Big Lunch’ celebration.  The idea behind the event is a simple one – let’s bring people in their community together to share good food and conversation.  Both a nutritious, well balanced diet and daily contact are vital to ensure the well being of individuals.  It is especially important for the elderly members of our community.  To help celebrate The Big Lunch, we are encouraging all our customers to invite a friend or neighbour for lunch on Sunday 11th June and we will provide a complimentary meal for their guest.

Rik Shipley, founder and owner of Park Care Meals, said of the event, “We are proud to be getting involved in The Big Lunch initiative.  We believe our “Meals on Wheels” service is not just about delivering a meal, but also providing vital daily contact and a well being check.  The idea of getting neighbours together is a great one as it will help reduce loneliness and isolation in the elderly.  This is something Park Care Meals is passionate about and I believe our service helps reduce this”.

If you are interested in being involved in the celebrations please speak to your delivery driver or contact your local branch and they will arrange  your guests meal.
